Fall break 2013

Long time no post!!

             Orange Beach Alabama

Well LAST YEAR during fall break we went to the beach! We had the best time with my sister and her family and my cousin, Rachel.
Rachel and I at Sea n Suds

Stephanie (my sister) and I at Sea n Suds
                  Taylor at Sea n Suds
My meal at Sea n Suds!

Sea n Suds was my favorite place! The atmosphere was very family friendly and right on the beach. I definitely have this on my must eat list!!

The weather was perfect! Not to hot, not cool but just perfect! We lounged out on the beach mostly all day and talked about where we were going to eat:) I love eating seafood and it is so much better at the beach!!

         Taylor and my nephew, Braden

    Me...enjoying the sunshine and sand!

As all Southern girls do, I have an obsession with monogrammed items!! Hats, purses, koozies, keychains, clothes, whatever it may be I love it! So I sported a lot of monogrammed items on this beach trip;)

Monogrammed beach spike for your drinks! Thanks to Michelle Pigue for this adorable little jewel! (Michelle's products can be purchased on Facebook) https://m.facebook.com/2piguesinapod

And inside my monogrammed beach spike is a....you guessed it....monogrammed koozie!!! This one is from Crystal Faye (http://shopcrystalfaye.com)

Back to the beach.....

We also enjoyed Lulu's! Very fun, kid friendly place to eat while in Gulf Shores! It is a must eat at place also.

Taylor played as we waited for a table.

After Lulu's Steven, Rachel, Taylor and I went to Dippin' Dots!!! Another favorite!
Then we called it a night so we could get up and enjoy life on the beach for another day.

Rachel and I enjoying the beach life!

My precious niece, Edye Jane! She loved the beach!! She is such a water baby!

                Me and the Hubs

Me and Rae Rae acting silly!

I can't remember the name of the restaurant we ate at the next night. Not a favorite of mine.

                  Shrimp and grits

Taylor and Braden posing for a picture!

Then we went to The Track for a fun evening!

Taylor and Steven ready to ride the go-carts!
Rachel and I rode but I didn't get a picture of us actually in the carts. But we took a selfie while waiting in line:)

Taylor enjoyed himself! The Track is such a fun place where everyone can enjoy themselves! The also have kiddie rides for the smaller children.

The next day of beach life was RAE RAEs birthday!!!! Steven and I got up early and went and got donuts for the celebration!!
Birthday girl with a donut hole!!!

We went down to the beach for a little while then we went and ate at Shrimp Basket for birthday lunch.

We are outside on the patio and it was fabulous!! Shrimp Basket is a must for lunch!! After we finished with lunch we headed back out to the beach!!

                       Beautiful!

Taylor playing with his trucks and tractors on the beach! That boy loves to play! He loved the ocean!

While waiting for our food Taylor feel asleep at the table!!! A memory I never want to forget! I also did this as a child!

Our appetizer which was the Italian fried cheese sticks! Yummmmyyy

Then I ordered fried shrimp! So so good!

After eating that wonderful meal we went to Scoops for ice cream with the birthday girl!!!

                   Yum yumm!

Shrimp Fest was starting on our lastnight in Gulf Shores! We all went out and enjoyed the fun before we headed home the next morning.

        Braden enjoying fresh squeezed lemonade!

          Taylor playing in the sand!

Taylor getting harnessed up to climb the rock wall!

                   Here he goes!!!

And he is climbing!! Well, that's about as far as he got! He must be like his daddy and afraid of heights!

             Having fun on the slide.

Climbing this cool maze! He loved it!!

The Funk Monster Band was playing in concert so we listened and danced for a little while! Lots of fun!! They play so fun disco type music.
Perfect way to end such an amazing trip!

Until next time,
Stacey

Walking in Memphis

We had made a special trip to Memphis for a very special book signing!! Another post on that later! I don't have Beiber fever I have Pioneer Woman fever!!

So while in Memphis we stayed with my cousin Jennifer. She is the hostest with the mostest to say the least. She spoiles us while we are on our "Jen Jen mini vaycays" She let me sleep in while she and Taylor went and picked up Mickey Dees breakfast! YUMMY! She knows the way to my heart:) THANK YOU JEN JEN!

Taylor before walking into the zoo!

All of the animals out in front had hearts on them. When I seen them it made me think of Cohen.

So.....she took us to the ZOO! I had not been in forever and Taylor had never been in his whole almost 4 years of life. He is such a monkey himself we were scared they would keep him..HAHA!

Taylor 1st trip to the zoo was a.m.a.z.i.n.g.!! I love seeing his little face light up. He was very excited to see each animal and see how they walked around. He was most excited to see the giraffes. When we made it to them he stood there for about 2.3 seconds! They must not have impressed him!

We made it to the Polar Bear exhibit in time to watch them be fed. We also learned a litle about those pretty creatures! Taylor was so cute to watch as the Polar bears dove for a fish. Unfortunately the Polar bears didn't want to "Press Paws" like they normally do.

The Polar bear eating a fish Speaking of eating.....we can NEVER go anywhere without eating!! So we had a pit stop to grab a few snacks.

Yummy nachos

A few of my favorites:

Panda bear

Flamingos......pretty in pink

Tiger

I could post tons more pictures but I will save more for another post. I got some great shot that I have plans for! Again another day...another post!

We ended the day with a warm yummy supper at McAlisters with a couple more of my cousins. Then we headed back to Crockett County and get ready for the week :( back to work is no fun!
